Victorian women's athlete Jamie Soldani represented Australia with coach Santo Pascuzzi in the 2014 World Women Sport-Boules Championships. Jamie showed her athletic ability in regular Victorian training camps by scoring top beep test results, she also improved rapidly in the fast paced Progressive Throw event with high results in the Victorian Throwing Championships.
This was Jamie's debut at the World Championships which were held in Macon, France. It was a good experience for Jamie to observe and compete against the world's best Women athletes. She had close encounters with China and Serbia in the traditional singles event, however did not manage to qualify for the finals. In the Precision Throw event, Jamie was close in every throw by hitting a target, however did not score at least 10 points to make the final. In the Progressive Throw event, Jamie ran as fast as the top athletes in the world but wasn't as accurate.
Jamie was happy with her performance and is keen to continue to improve her throwing technique to better suit her high level of fitness.
