The Inaugural Interclub Bocce Competition (NEBA Open), held in Shepparton to strengthen ties between Metro and Regional Bocce clubs proves to be a great success. A newventure organised between the Bocce Federation Victoria (BFV) and the North East Bocce Association (NEBA) held on Sunday the 16th of October at the Shepparton Italian Social Club (SISC) - Princess Park, will add a new dimension to the playing of bocce not only in regional Victoria, but also in the metropolitan area of Melbourne. Mr Michael Pascuzzi president of the BFV, excepted the Invitation extended to them by Mr Giuseppe Greco, for players to participate in a friendly interclub tournament, with the hope of renewing old and making new friendships.
The representation from metropolitan clubs included; Freccia Azzurro, Casa D’Abruzzo, Veneto, Sunshine and Lazio Marche clubs. NEBA’s representation came from Shepparton, Kyabram, Tatura and Cobram Clubs.
More than 90 people attended the competition that saw 35 teams compete for a variety of trophies sponsored by the Shepparton Italian Social Club.
