Australia will be one of 16 nations pursuing six medal opportunities at St Bulbas, France, over the week, 28th October to 1st November.
Australia’s team consists of Victorian Kelly Sperne from the Latrobe Valley in Victoria, pairing with Declan Fedele and Alec Ganeo from South Australia. All three have had international experience through the last World Championship in Rijeka, Croatia. Kelly was 9th in the Singles and Alec and Declan achieved 9th in the Doubles Championship.
The team will be directed by the experienced coach, Frank Fava of the Latrobe Valley, who has taken away many of the Junior teams and developed their techniques during their formulative years.
The Team Manager will be Frank Funari from Melbourne, also with International administrative experience, to ensure that the team performs at its best.
Australia will participate in 5 of the 6 events. In the Under 23, the Singles, Doubles and the Bowl Throw. In the Under 18 category, the exciting Precision Throw and the Progressive Throw.
While the team members have improved their fitness level, under Fitness Coach Fernando Solis, as preparation for these World level Championships and trained strenuously in their chosen events, they will meet strong opposition from the Champion nations of Croatia, France, Italy and Montenegro.
